PETROLEUM DRIVERS PASSPORT (PDP)

Petroleum Drivers Passport (PDP)

Developed by the UK Downstream Oil Distribution Forum (DoDF) and introduced from January 2014, PDP training ensures all tanker drivers have common knowledge and achieve a high level of competence in loading, driving and offloading of fuel tankers.

Designed to sit alongside existing regulations, with a 5 year renewal cycle in line with ADR training and annual refresher requirements PDP can be aligned with the Driver CPC. It became mandatory from January 2015.

Driver PDP is delivered in two parts.

We provide the theory training/assessment as an optional extra on our ADR Tanker Courses. The practical training is delivered by an employer and must be completed within four months of passing PDP theory.

PDP Practical is training and assessment is currently provided by companies (employers) who have access to transporting standard commercial fuel loads. We are working closely with our industry contacts and also hope to offer the Practical PDP in the future.

If you already hold a current ADR then your Driver PDP Theory can be arranged as a 1 day Top-Up course to gain your qualification.
